6)The author’s thesis in this study was to determine where a person’s attitude toward the poor was dependent on the consistency of the belief about the cause of poverty. He wanted to test the person’s ACC, Affective-Cognitive Consistency, to measure the consistency between feeling and beliefs. They test this through an experiment with many participants, seeing their feelings towards the poor, and their beliefs on why poverty exists, taking an ACC test, and relating it with a person’s motivation to help the poor and volunteer. I’m going to use mostly the background information on this, where it talks about people’s overall feelings towards the poor and what they think of them.
