3) American Attitudes about Poverty and the Poor.

3) This author in the article discusses if the poor are in poverty because of their lack of motivation/not doing enough or if they are in poverty because of circumstances beyond their control. The author supports the question by offering a survey taken by people, showing their feelings about the question, and lots of statistics determine their attitudes. I will use the stereotypes given in this article about the poor, and also the results from the survey. It talks about how lots people think the poor aren’t doing enough, therefore not helping them and just letting them go because it isn’t their problem. I will focus on that part when I write my essay.
