5) The author in this article talks about and asks why we believe that the poor are in poverty because of their own bad choices. It goes deep in psychology and talks about the human mind, and how it might view something in a negative way, but doesn’t realize they are in the same situation, maybe viewed that way by someone else. It shows why people think the poor are their own problems, and not our fault, but brought poverty onto themselves. I will use that part in my essay, discussing how we overlook why people are in poverty, because we just think it’s their fault. We see them as disposable, and don’t try to help them because of our believe that they got themselves into that situation.
